Why I shouldn't spend time on this startup side project
I've been spending spare time working on a startup to improve how marketing materials in regulated industries are substantiated. I'm writing while doing so to do some version of "build in public", invite discovery and conversation, and just share why it's fun and interesting.
In the interest of intellectual honesty, I'm going to list many good reasons that spending time on this is a terrible idea.
- I have little industry expertise here or industry right-to-win in terms of content/industry expertise -> if I (specifically) am the right founder for a startup idea, it's probably not this
- I don't have industry connections that would be valuable for GTM
- It's a side project. A side project should probably become a project (no qualifier, with focus)
- Numerous large players likely have interest in solving this problem, other startups are out there trying as well
Every challenge is an opportunity. We'll see where this goes / how long it lasts.
